How to Build a Solar Heater in Low Cost with Recycled Aluminum Cans

Making a solar panel heater by your own hands by use of the aluminum cans is not a tough job as you might think so. These units are good in efficiency and comparatively inexpensive and easy to make yourself.

1. Make a wooden frame/casing out the 2x4s, about 8 ft. in height x 4 ft. in breadth x 3.5 inches deep. Now cut/incise a plywood piece matching this size and fix it to the rear of the frame.
2. Drill/bore a hole at top center of the casing/frame; this hole is where you will join your outlet hose.
3. Now drill a hole in bottom of the frame. This hole is where to connect your inlet hose.
4. At the tops drill big holes and also in the bottoms in all the cans excluding for 16 which shall be in the bottom line. For these, drill the holes in sides and tops. Be cautious please, aluminum cans are very sharp, use gloves of heavy work kind or other means to keep them in places after you cut out the holes.
5. Begin placing cans in the frame. Make 16 columns/rows of 15 cans each. Heap them only one at a time, seal them mutually as you go all along. Make it sure the ones along with side holes are in the bottom row. Let the silicone sealant to alleviate.
6. Now spray the frame and cans with heat resistant smooth black paint of good quality.
7. When the paint is dry cover the frame by the sheet of Lexan or Plexiglas.
8. After this cut holes in side of structure matching up with holes of bottom and top of the solar panel. The Air shall be haggard from the structure by the lower hole, it should be just over floor level, and shall be returned from the upper hole.
9. Last but one, mount the finished panel on the external wall of the home. Instead, you can mount the panel in a detach frame which will let it to be tilted some more toward the Sun for better exposure.
10. At last establish the blower at moreover the outlet or inlet. This is not necessary, but will augment the effectiveness of your solar heater.
