Question by biffle: How to heat an Intex pool, already looked at other resolved questions..?
I have an Intex above ground 15′ round by 4′ deep pool. The weather here makes pools too cold. I have read the other ‘how to heat my pool’ questions and still have another.
I’ve ruled out a gas heater (despite the fact that I have a free natural gas well). One heater manufacturer said it would burn the sides of the pool.
I do not want an ugly solar contraption on the roof as I built my house myself and am happy with how it looks.
The electric heaters, apparently, don’t heat well enough and cost a fortune.
So, my question is about the the coiled black tube method. I don’t understand how the original pump, 637R, can power water through a series of hoses, UP to a roof and through the filter without burning out. I know that they do not have to be on a roof, but if I can find a suitable ground area, what length of hose would work? AAAND, i have a solar cover and pool cover but people keep saying leave them on during the day, but my kids SWIM during the day, even with cold water.

this page has an inexpensive option (170 bucks-a solar panel that sits next to pool) and a high tech heat pump that can be used even without sun : http://www.swimming-pool-information.com/above-ground-pool-equipment.html
