Solar panels for 2 dollars per watts
Imagine solar panels available as a chic new bicycle. And yet - panel is designed so that anyone can install it yourself, just as it set the window in a sunny afternoon.
Just such an idea is realized by the company Veranda Solar, based in Oakland, California. It was founded last year by Capra J’neva and Emilie Fetscher, graduates of Stanford University majoring in product design. Solar panels shaped like flowers are their diploma work.
They expect the market to offer their panels later this year at a price of $ 600, but then must provide the necessary funding to expand production.
The panels can be connected to the modular principle, so that customers can easily increase the capacity of its plant in time. Inverters transformed electricity generated in the right panel of the alternating current may be incorporated directly into the network through regular contact in the wall.
Marketing studies have found that the most sensitive to environmental issues are young people between 20 and 30 years. But this group is still unstable and inadequate incomes, and many of them still do not have their own home. They therefore difficult to invest in large photovoltaic roof installation. Precisely for this generation panels are made of Veranda.
As a price for installed watts are in the same range as the panels of other companies. But the above mentioned advantages make them an excellent solution for young people.
