Hawaii has been converted into the first state to consent a landmark law, that all new homes must be equipped with solar water heaters.
Beginning from January 2010, every new single-family dwelling in the Hawaii state shall have to incorporate solar water heaters; otherwise they will not be issued permits to build home. Some logical exceptions will be excluded from this law as if the homes under forest covering or Sunshade.
Nowadays, Hawaii has already 82,000 operational solar hot water heaters. Residents can already get 35% of state income tax credit handy, in addition to taking benefit of the national credit of 30% subject to a maximum limit of $2,000, but be quick; the national/ federal incentive is all set to expire by December 31, 2009. But a number of Hawaii’s important utilities are giving additional incentives worth $1,000 for a new system now and after December too.
Hawaii’s progressive standpoint is exciting and heartening. Solar water heaters, in addition well-known as solar thermal systems, usually cost an inexpensive $1,500 to $3,500, and you pay for them in four to nine years. There are a few types of solar modules/ systems, including passive systems and with pumps also.
So, therefore, it seems a lot of sense in favor of the magnificently sunny island chain to exploit advantage of its sparkling natural resources, and slash down on unnecessary expenses and pollution. Hawaii is well-known for its only one of its kind and spectacular natural beauty, and helping safeguard the ecosystem’s flimsy balance should be a first priority for the state’s administration/ leadership.
